Do You Think Trump Jr Acted With Intention Of Collusion When He Met With Russian Lawyer?

Updated July 14, 2017

We know that Donald Trump will stoop to any low in order to bully and undermine someone. Just look at how he resorted to name calling during the his presidential campaign in 2016. He labeled his opponents any name that would hurt and diminish their reputation – like the disabled reported he openly mocked. The apple does not fall far from the tree. Trump Jr. has been in hot water since evidence has been leaked about his meeting with Russians to gather dirt on Hillary Clinton back during the election. And an ex-Bush ethics lawyers says it “borders on treason.”

Like father like son. Donald Trump Jr. met with Russian lawyers during the 2016 presidential election because he wanted to make daddy proud and find any shred of information possible to defame and hurt Hillary Clinton and her chance of becoming president.

“This was an effort to get opposition research on an opponent in an American political campaign from the Russians who were known to be engaged in spying inside the United States,” said Richard W. Painter, who worked as chief White House ethics lawyer for President George W. Bush from 2005 to 2007. “We do not get our opposition research from spies, we do not collaborate with Russian spies, unless we want to be accused of treason.”

The ethics lawyer added: “This is unacceptable. This borders on treason, if it is not itself treason, depending on whether The New York Times story is true.”

Trump Jr. decided to meet with Natalia Veselnitskaya, a lawyer with close connections to the Kremlin back in June 2016. At this point, Hillary Clinton was in the lead in the polls.

Trump Jr. brought his brother-in-law Jared Kushner and his then campaign manager Paul Manafort. Trump Jr. singled out Veselnitskaya for the meeting because she told him she had dirt on Hillary Clinton.

Because he knew he was facing potential treason charges, Trump Jr. tried to explain away the meeting with two contradictory statements. Firs, he described his encounter with the Russian informant as “a short introductory meeting” where they “primarily discussed a program about the adoption of Russian children that was active and popular with American families years ago and was since ended by the Russian government.”

Why Trump Jr. would have been committing a foreign policy campaign back in June 2016 is unclear. Was he looking to adopt a small Russian child for himself?

On Sunday, Trump Jr. wizened up and changed his story, saying that “the woman stated that she had information that individuals connected to Russia were funding the Democratic National Committee and supporting Ms. Clinton.”

Trump Jr. admits the information was “vague, ambiguous and made no sense.” That’s when he claims that “it became clear to me that this was the true agenda all along and that the claims of potentially helpful information were a pretext for the meeting.”

The public can read between the lines. Trump Jr. wanted to get dirt on Hillary Clinton and influence the results of the election. Could he also have been involved in the Russian cyber attack that targeted Trump’s opponent?
